Learning in Public

How sharing your journey accelerates growth and builds unexpected connections.

For years, I learned in private. I’d consume tutorials, read books, build projects—all in isolation. Then I started writing about what I learned.

The Shift

Sharing my learning publicly changed everything:

  • Accountability: Knowing others might read pushed me to understand deeper
  • Connections: People reached out with similar interests
  • Opportunities: Writing led to speaking, which led to new roles

Getting Started

You don’t need to be an expert to share. In fact, beginner perspectives are valuable—you remember what’s confusing because you just figured it out.

Start small:

  • A tweet about something you learned today
  • A blog post explaining a concept to your past self
  • A GitHub repo with well-documented code

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s participation.
