About
Software Engineer with experience building solutions using JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, and frameworks like React, .NET, and Nest.js. I also work with automation tools (n8n), machine learning, and AI, and I love turning complex tech into something anyone can understand.
As a GitHub Campus Expert and GOLD Microsoft Student Ambassador, I run workshops, talks, and community events about Git & GitHub, Azure, AI, and modern developer tools. I've taught and spoken in different regions across Peru, and I'm on a personal mission to bring high-quality tech education to more students.
I'm also the creator of @the.james.dev, where I share programming lessons, university experiences, and practical resources through short-form content for thousands of learners.
Community Leadership
As Vice Chair of IEEE Computer Society at UPC, I've helped organize major events like The Weekend Hack (2023 & 2024), Hello World, Hello UPC, Season of AI, Microsoft Learning Day, SQL Saturday, and more. Our community focuses on giving university students equal access to tech education and creating learning opportunities for anyone interested in computing, software, and innovation.
Selected from 6,000+ applicants worldwide to be a GitHub Campus Expert, I organize events, mentor students, and lead workshops on GitHub, GitHub Copilot, open source practices, and modern developer workflows.
In 2024, I became one of the GOLD Microsoft Student Ambassadors in Peru, a recognition for students who go above and beyond in supporting and empowering their communities. I've spoken at events, supported university initiatives, and organized workshops on Azure AI, GitHub Copilot, and developer tools.
