A two-day event at Universidad Señor de Sipán in Lambayeque, organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Systems Engineering, bringing together learning, community, and technology.
Day 1: Git & GitHub Technical Workshop
An introductory technical workshop where students learned Git and GitHub fundamentals from scratch—essential tools for any developer.

- Working with branches
- Creating meaningful commits
- Pull requests and code review
- Forking repositories
- Real-world project collaboration
First Open Source Contribution
Students made their first open source contribution by participating in the development of the event’s website. Each contribution also served as an entry ticket for a special GitHub prize raffle, making the learning experience both practical and engaging.
Day 2: GitHub Beyond Code
The second day focused on GitHub Education benefits, exploring how students can leverage the platform beyond just writing code.

The event showcased incredible interest and engagement from students. The questions and discussions that emerged demonstrated genuine curiosity about leveraging GitHub’s ecosystem for both academic and professional growth.
It was an amazing experience working with the Systems Engineering Faculty to bring this content to Chiclayo and connect with so many motivated students eager to enhance their development skills.
